Design Digest - Is it time for your graphic design business' makeover? How to determine if your company’s message and look are out of date and in need of a revamp

There’s an old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Well, when it comes to your marketing, you should never wait that long before revamping your marketing efforts.

It seems appropriate since it’s the beginning of the New Year to talk about makeovers. It seems that every year, we start off with creating resolutions for bettering ourselves. Why should our business be any different?

Marketing is an essential part of getting the word out about who you are and what you do. There are always ways of improving it.

New technologies and marketing strategies keep coming up, and make it easier to market your products and services. It’s essential for your business success to keep abreast of these changes and to adapt your marketing.

The three main areas to concentrate your efforts on are:

  1. Marketing
  2. Design/ production
  3. Management.

Evaluating on an ongoing basis is a part of managing your career. Ask yourself:

  • What’s working for you at present
  • What you can improve on
  • What doesn’t work in your marketing.
  • Then, devise a plan to “tweak” it and revamp your business.

We’ll cover in this issue what to look for in deciding if your company’s marketing needs a makeover and what you can do to improve your business. Read about it here.
